Mr. Healthy's Power Breakfast

Ingredients:

  • 2 pieces of 100% whole grain or whole wheat toast

  • 2-3 Eggs

  • Ketchup

  • Bowl of 100% whole grain cereal (any kind, without sugar)

Select as much of these fruits and veggies as you can:

  • Apples or Oranges

  • Cucumbers

  • Tomatoes

  • Celery

  • Carrots

What to do:

Using any or all of the vegetables above, make 1 or 2 glasses of raw vegetable juice, using your juicer. Juicing helps you get raw nutrients in your body, and helps curb your appetite as well. You can learn about the power of juicing here.

If you don't have a juicer, you should definitely get one. In the meantime, you can simply eat the fruits.

Eat your cereal next, and use low-fat or non-fat milk.

Scramble the eggs and put them on your toast to make a big egg sandwich. Using only the egg whites is optional. Add a little ketchup for flavor, but not too much.

Remember, add no salt to your breakfast, and don't drink coffee or tea that has caffeine in it. If you need to drink something for lack of having a juicer, just stick with ice water or a little bit of non-fat milk. Avoid orange juice from a carton because it's usually loaded with sugar.

Why this is a great breakfast

You're eating a low fat breakfast, with whole grains that help keep you full since whole grain digests slowly. Because of this, you'll have a consistent source of energy.

As a result, your lunch will not be as big, and by the time dinner time rolls around, you'll only be craving a small meal.

So next time you're craving a McDonalds egg sandwich, forget about it and make your own healthy version!
